How to peel arrowroot

– After buying arrowroot, you should rinse it several times with water to remove any remaining dirt. This helps prevent bacteria from entering the white flesh inside.

– Place the arrowroot on a cutting board and use a knife to cut off the horn and stem of the tuber to reveal the white flesh inside.

– Use the tip of the knife to pry along the edge of the arrowroot’s cut so that you can successfully remove the peel. To prevent the white flesh from turning dark, immediately immerse the arrowroot in cold water.

How to make stir-fried shrimp with arrowroot

– After buying fresh shrimp, peel them, remove the heads, pull out the black thread on the back, wash them, and put them in a bowl. Then add 2-3 tablespoons of cooking wine and mix the shrimp well, marinate for about 10 minutes. When marinated enough time, you can add 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, mix well to cover the shrimp with flour. This step helps the shrimp to be tender and fragrant when cooked.

– Wash the bell peppers and slice them into bite-sized pieces. This ingredient helps enhance the flavor and make the dish more eye-catching.

– Heat the cooking oil and stir-fry the minced garlic and ginger until fragrant. Then add the shrimp and stir-fry until cooked, then transfer to a separate plate.

– Using the same pan, stir-fry the arrowroot for about 1 minute, then add the bell peppers.

– When the arrowroot is cooked, add the stir-fried shrimp and stir-fry together. Remember to add a little salt, sugar, and cornstarch water, then stir-fry quickly. When all the ingredients are cooked and the sauce is thick, turn off the heat and scoop it onto a plate to serve.
